Waste-Based Intermediate Bioenergy Carriers: Syngas Production via Coupling Slow Pyrolysis with Gasification under a Circular Economy Model

چکیده

Waste-based feedstocks and bioenergy intermediate carriers are key issues of the whole value chain. Towards a circular economy, changing upcycling infra-structure systems takes time, while energy-from-waste (EfW) technologies like waste pyrolysis gasification could play an integral part. Thus, aim this study is to propose economy pathway for energy (WtE) thermochemical technologies, through which solid biomass can be slowly pyrolyzed biochar (main product), in various regionally distributed small plants, pyro-oils, by-products those plants used as carrier fuel central plant syngas production. Through performed review, main parameters process chain, from syngas, were discussed. The develops conceptual model that implemented overcoming barriers broad deployment WtE solutions. proposed facilities recycling into where nothing wasted, carbon-negative achieved. downstream side (cleaning syngas) economic feasibility dual such system need optimization.

Steam Reforming and Gasification of Pyrolysis Oil Reactor and Process Development for Syngas Production from Biomass

Gasification of pyrolysis oil was studied in a fluidized bed over a wide temperature range (523-914 °C) with and without the use of nickel-based catalysts. Noncatalytically, a typical fuel gas was produced. Both a special designed fluid bed catalyst and a crushed commercial fixed bed catalyst showed an initial activity for syngas (H2 and CO) production at T >700 °C. However, these catalysts los...

Plasma pyrolysis and gasification of plastics waste – a review

Plasma pyrolysis integrates thermo-chemical properties of plasma using pyrolysis process for safe disposal of solid wastes. It is an environment friendly technology to generate valuable byproducts by converting municipal solid waste, biomedical waste and hazardous wastes at 800-1000°C. Plasma Pyrolysis of plastic wastes generates pyrolysis gas, which can be utilized for energy recovery via diff...

Achieving waste to energy through sewage sludge gasification using hot slags: syngas production

To relieve the environmental issues of sewage sludge (SS) disposal and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission in China, we proposed an integrated method for the first time to simultaneously deal with these two problems. The hot slags below 920 °C could act as a good heat carrier for sludge gasification and the increasing CO2 concentration in CO2/O2 atmospheres enhanced the production of CO and H2 at 400...

Gasification of plastic waste as waste-to-energy or waste-to-syngas recovery route

The disposal of plastic solid waste (PSW) has become a major worldwide environmental problem. New sustainable processes have emerged, i.e. either advanced mechanical recycling of PSW as virgin or second grade plastic feedstock, or thermal treatments to recycle the waste as virgin monomer, as synthetic fuel gas, or as heat source (incineration with energy recovery). These processes avoid land fi...
